It’s just turned October and that means two things: we need out Star Wars Halloween costumes ready, and the series Ahsoka is ending. Now Star Wars: Ahoska didn’t give us any confirmed ships [fandom parlance for romantic relationships], but it certainly gave plenty of speculative ones.
Which means that there are new character couples ideas to dress as for Halloween parties based on your favorite fanon [unconfirmed] or confirmed canon ships. Of course, not every Star Wars couples costumes needs to be romantic. I’m a firm believer in dressing with your best friend as Han Solo and Chewbacca or Finn and Rey.
With that being said, let’s dive into some of the best classic Star Wars Halloween costumes for couples, and new ones as well.
Class Star Wars Halloween Costumes for Couples
The original ship of Star Wars, and the obvious choice is Han and Leia. If you’ve been a fan of the Galaxy Far, Far Away since it came out, this has always been the classic option for couples. Rubie’s makes a deluxe Leia costume that includes a wig along with Leia’s A New Hope look. It also comes in plus sizes.
But what if you want to go as best friends? And don’t want assumptions made of your relationship? One of you can always be Chewbacca. You cannot ever go wrong dressing as Chewbacca. No one regrets being Chewbacca.
And the fun part is that you don’t have to spend that much money. You can just get the PJs version.
Personally, I think the cutest original trilogy Star Wars couples costume is for R2D2 and C2PO. There are various versions you can wear, that are interpretations of the droids.
Prequel Trilogy Star Wars Halloween Costumes
The great thing about C3PO and R2D2, is that they represent every trilogy of the Skywalker Saga. That includes the Prequel Trilogy.
For the romantic couples, the clear choice is Anakin Skywalker and Padme Anidala. It’s dramatic, daring, and a fun and unexpected choice. Look, nothing against Han and Leia, but they can be a bit trite. Sometimes, you want the drama. That’s when you choose Anakin and Padme.
But hey, maybe you don’t want to be Anakin and Padme. Nothing stopping you from being Anakin and Obi-wan. They are like brothers, best friends. And yes, some people ship them. Nothing wrong with that. Fandom is a wild place. Halloween is wild. Be wild. Your Star Wars Halloween costumes can by any character combo you want.
New Star Wars Halloween Costumes for Couples
Right now, there are so many Halloween Star Wars costumes to choose from. The biggest canon sequel trilogy couple is Rey and Ben Solo. Though you’ll likely find costumes under Rey and Kylo Ren. I personally have the adult Rubies The Last Jedi Rey costume, and I’ve worn it for years (you can see it at the bottom of this post). However, most that you will find for sale are for The Rise of Skywalker.
Kylo Ren costumes are quite easy to find.
Ben Solo costumes are easy to make, just find black canvas pants and a big black sweater. Make a whole in it.
And what other Star Wars couples customs for Halloween are out there? Depends on who you want to ship, or think will be the likely ship in series to come.
I’ve written plenty about Dinbo. I think personally think Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze will become a couple, and Grogu will be their child. And I’m not alone. If you’re going as a Mandalorian family, Din and Bo are a great costume choice.
Okay, but what if you’re an Ahsoka fan? As I pointed out earlier, there are no canon ships for this show. But that doesn’t stop fans, and it definitely should not stop you. Right now, the most popular ships are for Sabine/Ezra [Sabreza], Shin/Sabine [Wolfwren], and even Ezra/Shin [no name for this one yet].
And you can dress as ANY combination of these to suit your tastes. Sabreza can be friends for you and your bestie to dress as. You and your boo can dress as them because you are pretty certain that Ezra comment about Sabine being like a sister to him was just a way to hide his feelings and they are endgame.
The possibilities are currently endless. Of course, right now, there isn’t much in the way of costumes for them. There are some little known Ezra Bridge costumes out on Amazon. One might have to go to Etsy right now to find more decent costumes for your Halloween party.
Of course, any one of these costumes works just as well when you’re dressing just for yourself. There is no wrong way to wear costumes for Halloween, and you can be themed, have mixed themes, or just go the lazy shirt route if you get tired doling out Halloween candy.
